Job Descriptions

Penfield Field Hockey Booster Positions and Description

President: Presides at all club meetings, preps agenda, and oversees overall program calendar.  Generally, supervises the affairs of the club while leading/assists with events, projects and fundraising as needed to support the Field Hockey Program.  Serves as co-signor on check requests over $150.00 and shares overall financial responsibility.  

Vice President (optional): Present at all club meetings, serves as back up to the President.  Leads/assists with events, projects and fundraising as needed to support the Field Hockey Program.  Shares in overall financial responsibility.  

Secretary: Present at all club meetings, keep the minutes of all meetings and distribute electronically, handles club communication, and leads/assists with events, projects and fundraising as needed to support the Field Hockey Program. Shares in overall financial responsibility. 

Treasurer: Present at all club meetings, maintains finance records, preps annual budget, ensures check requests and deposits are submitted timely and within keeping with Global Booster club requirements. Shares in overall financial responsibility.     

Webmaster: Maintain Email Distribution Lists at www.penfieldfieldhockey.org. monitor content, update announcements, maintain team Google website. 

Banners (Varsity only): Hang senior banners and team logo at home games. 

Photographer: one JV, one Varsity, one Modified: photograph games and team events. Submit photographs to webmaster for publishing on website. 

Announcer: Announce PHS stadium policies, starting lineups, goals/assists from the press box

Publicity: Promote team results using social media, school announcements and local media. Need a co-editor for Facebook page. 

Game Day Statistician: sits at midfield (between the benches) and maintains statistics as directed by the coaching staff. Meet with coaches at the beginning of the season to learn how to keep record books. Work games to maintain accurate records. 

Tournament Coordinator/Director: The most important fundraiser!  Oversee tournament committee (volunteers) and recruitment of teams. Tables/Chairs set-up. Coordinate district communications. Make maps and signs. Set the schedule and work with the head coach to schedule/pay referees. Also oversees organizational efforts for fundraising. Send reminders! 

Community Service Coordinator: coordinate team participation in October “Making Strides for Breast Cancer” walk and Red Kettle campaign at the holiday season (Eastview Mall) 

Penfield Field Hockey Committees and Description

Banquet (parents of the captains for Varsity and JV events. Usually two separate events): Pick a venue and date with coaching staff.  Send invites and payment options.  Coordinate with coaches about awards and decorations.  Purchase gifts for the coaches, seniors, and teams. Put together a slide show for the event.  Usually 5 volunteers.

Senior Night: Usually a junior parent.  Works with varsity head coach to secure date and all aspects of senior night. Responsible for getting two photographers and finding an announcer. Need to design senior brochure and arrange refreshments for that night. In addition, decorate the field including hanging banners. Clean up after the event. 

Concessions:  Coordinate with coaches to get roster and dates for the home game.  Do a sign- up for parents to volunteer to run the concessions for home games.  Order pizza from Marks, day of games to have the pizzas delivered to the school.  Coordinate with the Global Boosters on when the concessions will open for the season.  Usually 1 -2 volunteers.
