High School: A 2010 graduate of Penfield High School, Romano played three years of varsity field hockey for coach Leslie Howlett and was a two-year starter on defense. She was her team's most valuable player as a senior, during which she was a captain and earned first-team all-county recognition and made the senior all-star game. Romano also played three years of lacrosse and was an all-county goalkeeper.
